Tuesday, October 1, 2024 The Ziro Music Festival, set against the stunning backdrop of Arunachal Pradesh’s Ziro Valley, recently became a source of inspiration for a group of travelers from Assam’s Dima Hasao district. Their journey was aimed at learning valuable lessons from the festival about organizing events, fostering cultural exchanges, and promoting sustainable tourism. Led by NC Hill Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa, the diverse group included government officials, members of the tourism management committee, and enthusiastic locals.
Their mission was to explore how the success of the Ziro Music Festival could be replicated to boost tourism in their own region. The road to Ziro was a scenic adventure, with the group traveling through the vibrant towns of Nagaon, Tezpur, Itanagar, and Naharlagun. Upon arrival, they were immersed in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere, experiencing live performances from talented musicians around the world.
Karan Daulagupu, a participant in the group, expressed his appreciation for the learning experience, emphasizing the untapped tourism potential in Dima Hasao. He highlighted the district’s rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty as perfect for rural tourism development. Tourist guide Biswajyoti Hojai shared his enthusiasm for Dima Hasao’s natural wonders, including Sielkal Peak, Panimur Falls, and Hempeupet Peak.
