Little had been serving three consecutive life-without-parole sentences when he died. The items Bagans obtained include Little's clothes, a pair of shoes and an art kit. He also received his hygiene items — such as arthritis pain relief cream, baby powder, denture adhesive and over-the-counter pain medication — as well as food seasoning like garlic powder.

Bagans revealed that he is going to put the items up for display in his serial killer exhibit room this week. He told the outlet that he will be putting Little's remains and belongings behind actual prison bars in his museum, right beside Charles Manson's ashes and bone fragments. He obtained the items from Jillian Lauren, a journalist who extensively interviewed and wrote a biography about Little titled Behold the Monster: Confronting America's Most Prolific Serial Killer.

She lent the items to Bagans and his museum indefinitely after previously keeping all the items in her garage at her home, which she shares with her husband, Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. Prior to Little's death in December 2020, he named her as his sole beneficiary as he did not have any remaining family. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Little, who had diabetes, heart trouble and other unspecified ailments, had been ill for sometime. They concluded that there was no evidence of foul play involving his death.
