The City of Mount Dora will host its inaugural Salute to Service event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.

m. Nov. 11 at Gilbert Park, 310 S.



Tremain St., in celebration and appreciation of military veterans. The event will feature food and music by singer-songwriter Pug Johnson.

Details: Mountdora.com. The City of Eustis will have its annual Salute to Veterans from 10 a.

m. to 4 p.m.

Nov. 9 at Ferran Park, 250 Ferran Park Drive, in downtown Eustis. The event will honor veterans through activities including a parade at 2 p.

m., a 2-mile dash at 8 a.m.

a history display by the Florida Military Vehicle Group, live performances by Showtime USA, food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and a ceremony of honor at 3 p.m. at the Alice McClelland Bandshell stage.

The day will also feature a half-size replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which will be on display Nov. 8-10. The original memorial is in Arlington National Cemetery and since 1921 has provided a final resting place for an unidentified World War I service member.

Unknowns from World War II and the Vietnam War were also laid to rest at the location in 1958 and 1984, respectively. The event is free and open to the public. Details: Eustis.
