Tributes have poured in for a beloved mum who lost her battle with an extremely rare and aggressive cancer at age 35. Mum-of-one Stephanie Thomson tragically died on Saturday, July 20, after being diagnosed with the disease last September, which saw her endure the "biggest fight of her life". The award-winning hairdresser, from Paisley, Scotland , was battling an extrarenal rhabdoid tumour – a rare cancer typically found in children.

But she sadly lost her fight over the weekend, leaving friends and family devastated. Stephanie previously opened up about her illness and willingness to try any alternative cancer treatment so that she could spend more time with loved-ones, including her son Logan, Glasgow Live reports. But the rarity of her cancer meant she was not able to get the life-saving medical treatment that she needed.

Friends and family of Stephanie, who have been left heartbroken by the news of her death, described her as a "beautiful warrior" as tributes flooded in following the news. Her mum, Yvonne, said "there is no love like a mother's" as she spoke of the overwhelming amount of love Stephanie had for her son Logan, who she adored. Yvonne added: "I lost my amazing, gorgeous, courageous, thoughtful, strong warrior daughter to the dreaded cancer.

She put up the biggest fight of her life and was determined to beat it. I had the privilege to call her my Steph. My heart will be forever broken.

RIP, my girl." News of Stephanie's passing sent shockwaves through the community, as several took to social media to share their tributes. One person wrote: "Absolutely devastated to see you gained your wings but you put up one hell of a fight.

You were one of the kindest souls I had ever met, always helping others. Thoughts are with all your friends and family." Another added: "You were such a strong amazing person and I always loved being around you.

You were such a pleasure to be with, always happy and smiling. You were dealt such a hard card out the pack with your cancer diagnosis but you fought with so much strength and determination. You will be missed beyond measure.

" A third said: "From the first day I met you over six years ago we just clicked. We were out every weekend basically after work de-stressing from the week and you were always the life and soul of the party and brought the laughs. You always made me feel like family with your heart of gold.

Watching you over the last few years, I can't believe what a warrior you were to the end and how brave." "As everyone will say, you will be missed and will never be forgotten. We will all have a void in our hearts but will never forget the good times and when we think of you we will smile as you'd want us to.

Love you always my friend and hair guru.".
