Lawrence, the creator behind Surgen TV , gave the Aussie traveller in London a pop quiz on facts about Australia which she passed with flying colours. But the interview took a surprising turn with his next question: 'Tell me something most people don't know about Australia.

' And her now-viral response was something that nobody saw coming. 'We actually had a thing called The Great Emu war, which involved people in the army fighting against emus - and it lasted about a month,' the unidentified Aussie said. She was referring to a little-known 1932 gun battle in WA that waged war on huge mobs of emus that destroyed crops of wheat on their annual coastal migration.



The resilient native birds survived the skirmishes leading the government to build the State Barrier Fence: a 1200 km railing that protected the farms and their crops. But the Aussie didn't stop at the Great Emu War, and continued to impress Lawrence - and thousands of Australians - with an 'outstanding history lesson' on Aboriginals. Lawrence from popular TikTok account Surgen TV interviewed the unidentified Aussie traveller on all things Australia The 'brave' woman did Australians proud with her 'hard truths' responses that didn't shy away from darker aspects of Australian-Aboriginal history 'The indigenous population of Australia only makes up three per cent of the total population due to colonisation and the Stolen Generation ,' she continued.

'It was a very cruel time in Australia, a very bad part of our history.' Her clear and concise account of the government policy, which occurred from 1910 until the 1970's, was praised by thousands of Aussies.

People commenting on the video were quick to applaud the intelligent and brave woman for being so truthful, 'educated' and well-spoken. 'Thank you for making Australia proud and explaining our history in a little nutshell so eloquently,' one Aussie said. 'Beautiful job representing our country, sister,' another chimed in.

Many were impressed with the young woman's mature understanding and sensitivity when it came to speaking about the darker aspects of Australian-Aboriginal history. 'I can't completely describe how relieved I am to hear this nuanced response from a young Australian,' one woman said. 'She's beautiful, smart, and respectful,' another agreed.

'You make me proud to be an Australian' a third chimed in. Several indigenous Australians also celebrated the young woman for her informed and sensitive response: 'We love sis and appreciate her voice.' One voter suggested that the Aussie traveller might want to consider a future career in politics: 'This babe for Prime Minister.

' Other people were still recovering from being 'schooled' on the existence of The Great Emu war - which they had never even heard about. 'The funniest part of it is that Australians went to war with the emus..
