So, what happens in the sunny climes of The White Lotus ? A lot of sordid shit: sex scandals, spousal abuse, a little murder — it's hardly the most glowing depiction of the ultra-rich on TV. Not that this does much to conceal the obvious allure of a luxury resort such as the fictional namesake hotel chain of Mike White 's murder-mystery series. Its characters might generally suck as people, but the hotels most certainly do not, and are enough to leave you wondering if it could, actually, be worth bankruptcy and/or remortgaging the house (if, indeed, you own a house — in this economy!) for a weekend away.
Even if the staff are excessively nice. And the food is a little pretentious. And bodies wash up, like, every week or two.
Well, if you've ever harboured the ambition of wanting to try a White Lotus for yourself, we've got great news. Four Seasons, whose resorts have served as the shooting locations for all three seasons of The White Lotus , are temporarily bringing the series to life at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village (it's in California) in the run-up to the release of season three. They're calling it the “world's first immersive hotel experience,” and promise that the “multi-day activation will gather guests to indulge in a luxurious celebration of the third season's launch.
” Further, there will also be “on-site activations” at other global Four Seasons sites, where they will “offer experiences grounded in the themes of the show's third season.”.
