The Yorkshire Vet: David marries Megan in France Yorkshire Vet’s Peter Wright has given an insight into the life and romance of “lovestruck teenagers” Mr and Mrs Green. For almost 10 years, veterinary icon Alf Wight’s prodigy Peter Wright has been among the stars of Channel 5 ’s The Yorkshire Vet with the popular docu-series returning for season 19 on Tuesday, August 13. As well as the hardworking vets, personal stories of beloved animals and the stunning Yorkshire backdrop, a big draw for viewers has been clients Mr and Mrs Green.

The married duo have been going to Peter for help with their animals throughout the show and won themselves a loyal fanbase and in turn, their own spin-off, At Home With The Greens. Opening up to Express.co.

“I’ve always had a great relationship with my clients and it makes the day go by if we can inject humour into our days and a bit of banter and that’s absolutely great. “So I came back to Thirsk in 1982 and of course, they’ve been clients ever since then. “So whenever I go there, we have a little bit of fun, Mrs Green would always put loads of sweets into my pockets that I’d have to take home with me and various pork pies and pasties and things.

“This wasn’t something that was just done for the programme. This is something we’ve done all my career and it’s a wonder I haven’t got a 46 inch waist with all the stuff Mrs Green gives me!” He continued to explain how they hadn’t “really changed” over the years, keeping true to their simple way of life that many are “a little bit envious of”. The Yorkshire Vet with Peter Wright will be returning for season 19 on August 13.

Read our Privacy Policy And despite being married for decades, Peter hasn’t seen much of a change in how Mr and Mrs Green are with one another either. “Their relationship is as strong now as it was when they got married over 40 years ago and they still act and giggle like two love struck teenagers at times. “I think it’s this happiness and this love that they have for farming and their lives in general that comes through and I think that’s one of the reasons why they’re so popular.

“If I was talking in a room and Mrs Green was talking next door, my room would be totally empty, they’d be queuing out the door of Mrs Green’s!” The Yorkshire Vet is on Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 5..
