Ghanaian actor John Bredu Peasah, famous as Drogba from the TV series YOLO , has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise $280,000 for specialized medical treatment abroad. Drogba, who was diagnosed with demyelination in March 2024, has been undergoing continuous treatment and now requires further care overseas. In an Instagram post on August 14, Drogba expressed his gratitude to Vice President Dr.

Mahmudu Bawumia and his friends for their ongoing support and donations. Despite this assistance, Drogba highlighted that the costs of his treatment have significantly depleted his resources. “This fundraising effort is crucial to support my expensive treatment abroad, which includes specialized care from experts in pain medicine, physical therapy, psychology, occupational therapy, biofeedback, and nursing at the Pain Rehabilitation Center,” Drogba explained in his post.

He also shared that his condition has led to additional health issues, including Sleep Apnea Syndrome, for which he is currently using a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine to aid his breathing while sleeping. Drogba has appealed to the public for support to cover admission costs, medical treatments, and exceptionally high IVIG therapy and plasma exchange expenses. “Any contribution, whether large or small, will be deeply appreciated and will help cover my medical expenses,” he added.

The campaign aims to secure the necessary funds to continue Drogba’s treatment and improve his health outcomes..
