Sunday, October 6, 2024 Yercaud Tourism is set for a major transformation as the Tamil Nadu government has allocated ₹9.7 crore for the development of tourist facilities. On Friday, Rajendran inspected the Yercaud boat house and other tourist amenities to assess the planned improvements.

As part of a broader initiative to boost tourism, 300 locations across the state have been identified for development, with Yercaud being one of the key areas. The funds will be used to enhance infrastructure and improve visitor experiences in the region. Plans include a ₹1.



4 crore decorative arch, new shopping complexes, public toilets, parking facilities, pedestrian walkways, and improved drinking water access. Beautification efforts around Anna Park will include relaying walkways and installing streetlights. A new bridge connecting the Boat House to Eco Park, costing ₹1.

9 crore, is also part of the development plan, along with the renovation of the Tamil Nadu Hotel in Yercaud. These improvements aim to elevate Yercaud as a prime tourist destination in the state. In addition to infrastructure upgrades, the government is focusing on improving the overall visitor experience by enhancing safety and accessibility for tourists.

New pedestrian pathways will ensure safer and more convenient movement around the popular tourist spots, while upgraded drinking water facilities and public restrooms will provide greater comfort for travelers. These improvements are expected to increase tourist foo.
