Yemen Blues will release new album ‘Only Love Remains’ later this year. The band are an entrancing, pan-diasporic experience, with the evolving line-up hinging on four musicians: Ravid Kahalani, Rony Iwryn, Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz, and Dan Mayo. A project that matches East to West, the traditional to the modern, the organic to the digital, Yemen Blues are unlike anything else you’ve ever heard.

Truly entrancing, new album ‘Only Love Remains’ bringing together these multiple facets into one place. Out digitally on August 28th, the physical LP vinyl and CD versions follow on October 26th through Kartel Music Group. The title song is out now – a bold, hypnotic piece of music, ‘Only Love Survives’ blends Middle Eastern culture with rave electronics and more, serving notice on the album as a whole.



It also acts as a tribute to the late Yemeni musician Ahmed Alshaiba, who sadly in a New York car accident at the age of 32. Ravid Kahalani explains..

. “Ahmed was an incredible oud player and an exceptionally kind person,” explains Kahalani . ‘I started writing Only Love Remains in New York when I was longing for Yemen, my father’s country.

Ahmed translated the song from English to Yemeni Arabic, and then after he passed, the song became about him. About Ahmed being the beauty of Yemen and how we remember him and glory his legacy. Sonically, it’s influenced by African tribal music, we wanted a simple but soulful fierce groove.
