Fightful Select is reporting that Baron Corbin, Tegan Nox and Indi Hartwell have all been released from their WWE contracts. It's understood that Corbin was told his deal wouldn't be extended when it lapses. Meanwhile, female stars Nox and Hartwell will become free agents able to wrestle elsewhere within the next 90 days.

This breaking news has appeared to come out of nowhere, and it has caught some in the wrestling world off-guard. That's particularly true when it comes to Corbin. He hasn't really been featured on TV since jumping from NXT to SmackDown, but was building a babyface tag-team with Apollo Crews and had been with the company since 2012.

Nox last wrestled for WWE back in July, but hadn't appeared on television since the 1 April episode of Raw. Her run with the promotion had been blighted by various injuries. Meanwhile, Hartwell has been tied to Candice LeRae as part of the seemingly short-lived alliance they had with SmackDown champ Nia Jax.

It's fair to say that Corbin was the highest profile of the three, but the sudden news of his departure alongside Nox and Hartwell has some concerned that more WWE releases are imminent. Fightful chief Sean Ross Sapp has reported on X that sources within the company claim this trio are the "only ones leaving in this round". Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops.

It obviously sucks whenever wrestling companies cut talent, but Corbin, Nox and Hartwell will hopefully find work elsewhere on the wrestling map. It'll also.
