Wuthering Waves has become massive since its full release on mobile and PC earlier this year. It isn’t quite as big as Genshin Impact yet, but it’s definitely on the up and has the potential to become equally as huge as Hoyoverse’s king gacha experience. Thankfully, Kuro has officially reaffirmed that , but the latest announcement comes with some potentially disappointing news.

There is a lot to anticipate for the near future of WuWa. Update 1.2 will bring Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao as playable characters, and leaks have shown off their “ ” animations and skills.

There is an assortment of that has fans praising Kuro for listening to the community, meanwhile, another leak suggests a is on the way that Genshin Impact fans have wanted for years. WuWa is certainly on the ascension and the PS5 release is only going to make it even bigger and more popular. Unfortunately, although Wuthering Waves is coming to PlayStation, it might not be coming to PS4.

On the official Wuthering Waves Twitter account, Kuro Games has reaffirmed that WuWa is coming to PS5. There’s no mention of a release date or launch window as Kuro merely says that the “PS5 version is now officially in development” with updates on the launch time set to be provided in the future. Dear Rovers, We are excited to announce that the PS5 version of Wuthering Waves is now officially in development.

We'll provide updates on the official launch time of the PS5 version in the future. Please stay tuned for more information! We’ve known since the start of the year that WuWa was planned for PS5 consoles. As per , Kuro confirmed WuWa for PlayStation’s current-gen system at the Unreal Fest in Shanghai in January.

A translation of the studio’s presentation said “Graphics settings on PS5 will be identical to the Ultra settings of the PC version”. Unfortunately, as noticed by many players, Kuro’s new announcement that a PS5 version is in development makes no mention of the PS4. This seems to suggest the game is not coming to PS4 consoles despite previous reports.

While Kuro talked about a PS5 version matching the Ultra graphics settings on PC, Kuro also mentioned a PS4 version at the Unreal Fest in Shanghai. Again, per a translation of their presentation, Kuro said, “PS4 version will receive settings slightly higher than the maximum mobile settings”. Here is translation Seeing as there’s no mention of the PS4 at all in Kuro’s new PlayStation confirmation, it seems possible that the PS4 version has been dropped.

This could be disappointing as, despite the fact the PS5 has been out since 2020, there are many people across the world who still play on the PS4. Following on from Kuro’s PlayStation announcement today, we will see the game in action on the PS5 for the very first time at ChinaJoy 2024. This PlayStation event takes place from July 26th until the 29th, and you will be able to watch it live at .
