East Central hosted the annual Super Duals wrestling event Saturday. The host Trojans won the event team title. Rushville finished 4-1 on the day and Batesville went 2-3 for the day.
Rushville’s wrestling team had a successful day at East Central, winning four of its five matches. The Lions defeated Lawrenceburg 62-12, Batesville 57-29, Cambridge City Lincoln 69-12 and Southwestern 67-12 and falling to the host Trojans 58-18. The Lions had a pair of wrestlers go unbeaten on the day in Briggs Tackett (106) and Kyle Jacobs (126).
“Wrestling four of the last eight days took its toll. We are looking forward to a few days off for Christmas before attending the Spartan Classic Friday and Saturday, Dec. 27 and 28,” Coach Jim Tush said.
“This will be our first individual tournament of the season.
