For most people, flying is not a big deal. But for Rumeysa Gelgi, the tallest woman in the world at 7 feet, 0.7 inches, it poses significant challenges.

Gelgi requires special arrangements for air travel to ensure her comfort and safety. Guinness World Records shared a video of her experience flying with Turkish Airlines during her trip to the United States and the United Kingdom. Rumeysa, who has a rare genetic condition, revealed that she needed to travel on a stretcher due to scoliosis, a severe curvature of the spine.

Turkish Airlines went above and beyond to make her 19-hour flight from Istanbul to San Francisco as comfortable as possible. They removed six seats to set up a custom stretcher, allowing her to lie flat and protect her back. The cabin crew, medical team, and support staff worked tirelessly to ensure her journey was smooth and relaxing.

Rumeysa shared her thoughts with Guinness World Records, "I’m literally so excited my heart beats fast. Because of my spine condition, I had to fly on this stretcher. It was great - it was really comfortable.

The entire crew and the chef surprised me with a stunning chocolate cake. This was so kind, so lovely, it made me emotional, to be honest." She further explained her condition in the comment section, "For everyone wondering why I need to lie down during flights: I have a condition called scoliosis, which is severe spinal curvature.

I had spinal fusion surgery 11 years ago, and while my curve has been reduced and no long.
