Edmund Bartlett, has celebrated the upcoming launch of a new direct flight from Lisbon, Portugal, to Montego Bay, Jamaica, as part of an expansion by European carrier World2Fly.

Beginning in the summer of 2025, this service is anticipated to boost arrivals from Continental Europe by approximately 7,000 travelers between June and September, further supporting Jamaica’s tourism growth. World2Fly, a young Spanish airline established in 2021, is part of the Iberostar Group, a major player in Spain’s hotel and tourism sector. As a subsidiary of World2Meet, the airline specializes in leisure routes to Caribbean destinations from Spain and Portugal, catering to vacationers seeking tropical escapes.

During the recent World Travel Market in London, Minister Bartlett and his team engaged with senior executives from World2Fly, solidifying support for this new air route and exploring further opportunities to increase tourism connections between Europe and Jamaica. The Lisbon to Montego Bay flight, operating non-stop once weekly, will be serviced by an Airbus A350 aircraft, which offers 432 seats, providing ample capacity to accommodate European travelers seeking the vibrant experiences Jamaica offers..
