The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation ( DTTDC ) is organising exclusive Heritage Walks for the World Heritage Committee conference delegates. The ongoing walks started on July 21 and are being conducted in the capital till July 31. Approximately 2,500 delegates from 190 countries are participating in this conference and 530 of them have registered for the walks.

Delhi's known heritage walk leaders Dr. Swapna Liddle, a historian and author, Sohail Hashmi, a historian and author, storytellers Anas, Nitika Arora, Mobi Sara, Tokeer and Lahar Zaidi, are conducting walks. These heritage walks are designed to offer an immersive experience of Delhi's rich historical and cultural heritage.



The walks held between 6am to 8am take place at Shahjahanabad, to explore the architectural marvels of Old Delhi, at Mehrauli Archaeological Park, to delve into the layered history of one of Delhi’s oldest and most significant sites, at Hauz Khas, to wander through the scenic ruins of this medieval complex, renowned for its tranquil lake and historical monuments. The walks held between 7pm to 9pm are happening at Qutub Complex, to discover the grandeur of the Qutub Minar and the surrounding historical structures in a serene evening ambience and Dilli Haat INA, to experience the vibrant cultural showcase of crafts and cuisines from different parts of India. These Heritage Walks provide a unique opportunity for delegates to experience Delhi's diverse and rich cultural heritage, which is an integral part of India’s identity.

The walks aim to showcase Delhi’s invaluable cultural assets and offer an in-depth exploration of the city’s historical sites, crucial to understanding India’s past and present. By organising these walks, DTTDC aims to enhance tourism by offering the delegates a chance to unwind and appreciate the city's historical beauty in a guided and curated manner. This initiative is part of DTTDC's ongoing efforts to promote Delhi as a premier tourist destination and to highlight its cultural heritage to a global audience.
