A new 5km shared path is expected to improve connectivity between Hillarys Boat Harbour and Mullaloo. The works are intended to create better walking, wheeling and riding connections along the coastal area connecting Hillarys Boat Harbour to Westview Boulevard via Whitfords Avenue and Northshore Drive. The upgraded path will improve access to Pinnaroo Point, Whitfords Beach, Mullaloo Beach and surrounding parklands, offering coastal views and recreational opportunities.

The works form the second part of the State Government-funded Hillarys Cycle Network Expansion project at a cost of $6.9 million. This latest work follows 2.

6km of new shared path constructed along Hepburn Avenue, which was completed in May. “This is another exciting milestone for our Hillarys Cycle Network Expansion project and follows the completion of the Hepburn Avenue shared path earlier this year,” Hillarys MLA Caitlin Collins said. “It’s a spectacular 5km stretch from Hillarys Boat Harbour to North Mullaloo, so it’s fantastic the current path will be upgraded by the end of the year which will entice more West Australians to enjoy this beautiful part of our coastline.

” Major upgrades to the 2.6km shared path between Ocean Reef Marina and Burns Beach are expected to be completed in mid-2026. Once complete, the Hillarys Cycle Network Expansion project will provide more than 10km of new and upgraded active travel infrastructure in the area.

“We know how important active travel infrastructure is to the community, which is why we made the commitment to improve these coastal shared paths,” Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said. “With the new Hepburn Avenue shared path recently completed, it’s fantastic to see the next stage of this program getting underway.”.
