A woman ignited quite the debate after getting into a sun loungers war. Holidaymakers are absolutely seething over the age-old debate of reserving sun loungers at resorts and now it's kicking off again. It's a real marmite issue as some reckon they've got every right to nab a poolside lounger at the crack of dawn by chucking a towel on it, while others argue it's not acceptable.

What's really grinding gears is when early birds bag their spots and then scarper for hours, leaving later risers fuming with nowhere to soak up the rays because all the chairs look taken with no bum in sight. And this exact pickle has gone and wound up one Reddit user big time. This 28-year-old lass was holidaying in Mexico with her other half and couldn't believe it when there wasn't a single empty lounger by the pool because of this towel game.

A couple of days into their holiday, they spot four unused loungers sitting there asking for it, but draped with towels. Then after no sign of the hotel guest, she decided to shift the towels. However, an "extremely aggressive" guest rocks up later and gives her an earful.

She detailed: "After maybe two hours, a woman comes over extremely aggressive. She stated they were her chairs and she got up at 5am to claim them. I stated 'It's 3pm now and we've observed the loungers multiple times and you haven't used them all day and it's selfish'.

"She continued to drag the two spare loungers, including my partner's lounger as he was in the bathroom, across the ground while talking loudly so I could hear her calling me a 'rude b***h' and other profanities. It was incredibly awkward and they were so disrespectful." The woman further revealed she and her 30-year-old partner had to share one lounger when he returned from the bathroom before they eventually decided to get up and leave.

She expressed her "infuriation" with the exchange and felt it "took the joy" out of her holiday. Commenters on the post explained that reserving sun loungers has "been an issue for years now", and said some hotels are starting to combat it by not allowing guests to put towels down as reservation tools. One person commented: "Yeah, so this has been an issue for a few years now.

Some resorts are putting up signs to say you can't reserve the lounges like that. One place I went, if they didn't see you use the chair for a while they would just go around collecting 'dirty' towels. Anything like sunglasses they ask around, but then just take it to lost property.

" And another person chimed in: "That is the worst part of resorts. It has happened at every one I've been to. People put things on the chairs and don't show up for hours.

The resorts never enforce their policy if they even have one. I totally feel your pain! You did nothing wrong! Those people were horrible!".
