A woman was robbed of her £185,000 designer watch in front of her children in a “terrifying” outside station. The victim, in her 40s, was outside the station with her three children around 10.45pm on Sunday (July 21) when she was approached from behind by three men.
They pushed her to the ground and “forcibly removed” her diamond-encrusted watch by designer Richard Mille, which police say is worth around £185,000. Police responded to the scene in , but the robbers are understood to have fled on foot before officers arrived. No arrests have yet been made.
detectives on Friday released an image of the woman’s watch, as they appealed for anyone who witnesses the “terrifying” incident to get in touch. Sergeant Max Pennington, from the Central North area's Local Investigations team, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim and her three children and we are committed to finding the perpetrators. “I’d be keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the robbery, or the suspects running off.
“I’d also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered a Richard Mille watch within the last couple of days. “Any information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity anonymously.
” Richard Mille is a Swiss luxury watch brand founded in 2001 by Dominique Guenat and Richard Mille. It specialises in extravagant, very high-priced clockwork watches. The brand has boutiques in affluent cities and locations including Riyadh, New York, Seoul, Miami, Beijing, Abu Dhabi, Aspen, Milan, and Monte-Carlo.
It also has a London boutique in Old Bond Street. Sunday’s incident is the latest in a number of high-value watch thefts to hit the capital. Last month, a finance worker whose Rolex was snatched from his wrist in Chelsea as he criticised the Met for an “appalling failure” to catch his muggers.
