A woman has shared how she beats strict hand luggage rules - and it only costs £1..55.

Lisa Brown, 28, says she’s saved hundreds of pounds on "pricey" airline bag fees by sneaking an extra bag onto the plane. Lisa shared a video online that shows her buying a £1.45 bottle of water and a 10p carrier bag in duty free.

She then filled it with extras - saving her from paying for more baggage. The video, which has 2.9million views and 89,400 comments, shows Lisa walking through Stansted airport before a Ryanair flight to Lithuania and carrying her additional items through security in a separate bag - before transferring them into an airport shopping bag.

She told Luxury Travel Daily: “A lot of people don’t notice the signs and don’t know how to use it effectively to save money . I’ve been doing it for years, I’ve probably saved hundreds. "My favourite part is not having to wait for my bag at the end.

I do think the price of luggage can be pricey, on top of paying for the actual flight. I check in online and I have my extra things already separated in a bag when I’m going through security. "By checking in online, they only check your bags at the gate, which makes this method effective.

Additionally, you can save the bag for your next trip to save even more money. I’ve tried and tested this hack at London Stansted Airport, London Luton, and Gatwick." In the clip, Lisa points out a sign that reads ‘take two bags on board’ and states that one hand luggage and one airport shopping bag is allowed to be taken on the flight.

She said: “Do not pay extra baggage fees. Here’s an airport secret they do not want you to know. "You can get additional luggage for £1.

55. If you’re like me and have decided to catch a super cheap flight that only comes with your personal item bag then this is the hack that you need. Today I’ve decided to bring a bag that is bigger than the requirements and I know it so I’m going to have to use my baggage trick and I do this specifically to show you guys how well it works.

"So, you go through duty free but you’re not going to exit just yet. You purchase the cheapest thing in duty free which is currently this water for and grab yourself a bag for 10p. "Fill this bag up with all your extra luggage and it’s time to board your flight.

Yes, this hack is legal. One airport shopping bag is free. And there you have it.

This is how you get extra luggage on low cost airlines for £1.55." The video recieved thousands of comments, with some followers thanking Lisa for the helpful tip and others begging her to stop sharing the secret before airlines catch on.

Louise Robbins wrote: “I’ve been doing this for a long time. I save the bag and reuse it.” Nick said: “Please stop spreading before Ryanair catch on", and Amanda Fowler added: “The other hack is to pre order your toiletries at Boots online and get them delivered to the airport.

You get a bag and full sized products at high street prices.” A fifth follower said: “I do it for 10p, I just buy a bag from duty free", and Ryan wrote: “I just bring a reusable bag and open it up and put my items in past duty free, done four flights with this and no issue.” According to Ryanair’s website, it charges between £11.

99 and £35.99 for a 10kg check in bag, while easyJet fees start at £6.99 for hold luggage weighing up to 15kg.
