Prayagraj : A 25-year-old woman of Sathar village was arrested on Friday on the charges of registering a fake gang-rape FIR against her brother-in-law and two others following a dispute over property , police said. The woman, with the help of her accomplice Rajendra Bharatiya (52) of Rahupur village, had managed to get an FIR registered against ML Patel and two others with Saraymamrez police under section 87115(2)70 (1) of BNS on Aug 18, 2024. In retaliation, her brother-in-law lodged a complaint against the woman and another person, accusing them of fabricating fake charges of gang rape.
During probe the police found that there was no evidence of gang rape. The woman was staying at her parents’ house. The police then submitted a final report in the fake gang rape case.
Police found the role of Rajendra Bharatiya suspicious, as he had provoked the woman to lodge a fake FIR.
