The children's father on Thursday filed a complaint with the Valiv police. The siblings, aged 7 and 8, were staying with their father after their parents got divorced.
The father remarried last year. It was an arranged marriage and his wife was aware of his two children from the first marriage. In his complaint, the father, who runs a courier business, said he was frequently travelling and believed his children would be taken care of by their stepmother.
Over the weekend, when the father was spending more time in the house, he noticed behavioural changes in his sons. He also noticed injury marks on their bodies. When he probed, the brothers told him about the physical torture .
According to the children, while the abuse had been going on since the woman married their father, it escalated in June. She allegedly placed a hot knife on the private parts of the boys for failing to finish the household work on time. The boys told their father about being made to sweep and swab the house, wash the utensils and clothes.
Police booked the woman under sections of the Juvenile Justice and BNS Acts..
