Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham has turned plenty of heads this season with her pregame outfits. Cunningham has proven this season that she knows how to make a fashion statement. It doesn't matter if she's wearing a Kobe Bryant sweater or a black dress, she's going to have WNBA fans talking about her style.
There was a lot of chatter surrounding Cunningham's outfit from August 26. Fans wondered why she showed up to a game in a dress that showed off her tan lines. During an interview with the New York Post, Cunningham revealed that her mother picked out that dress.
"The outfits that have went really viral, my mom has actually picked them out," Cunningham told the New York Post . "It’s been really fun because now (my family) is on all the outfits. And trust me, my family is like, 'Oh, gosh, what’s Sophie gonna wear today?' It’s just like a running joke.
" Cunningham later revealed that she doesn't have an elaborate thought process that goes into every outfit. She simply makes a decision in the moment. "For me, it really is just like a spur of the moment type thing.
