Circana video game industry advisor and executive director Mat Piscatella has shared on X/Twitter a list of the most popular games on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The lists track the most popular games by player engagement each week, with the latest rankings for the week ending on August 10.

This week's list is close to last week's, with only one game coming from outside the top ten, which is Apex Legends , which jumped from 15 to 10 on PlayStation 5, which saw Season 22 drop on August 6. Outside of Apex Legends, the rest of the top 10 on each platform only shifted slightly compared to the previous week. EA Sports College Football 25 has held onto the number 3 spot on the PS5 list and shifted from 5 to 6 on the Xbox Series X|S list.

The First Descendent has held on to both consoles lists, holding at 10 on Xbox Series X|S and moving from 8 to 9 on PS5. On Steam, Counter-Strike 2 has held the top spot, while Elden Ring has slipped slightly, dropping from 2 to 3. Helldivers 2 has moved back up the Steam list from 4 to 2, knocking Once Human down from 3 to 5.

Baldur's Gate 3 also sees a move up the list, jumping from 9 to 6. The list could potentially see some drastic changes in the coming weeks, with some heavy hitters set to release in the rest of 2024 . Black Myth: Wukong releases on August 20, Star Wars Outlaws on August 20, and Astro Bot on September 6, all of which could grab a spot in the top ten most played.
