All the ten captains posed for a photoshoot on the Captains' day ahead of the beginning of the women's T20 World Cup 2024. New Delhi: Just a day to go before the all-important tournament for women’s cricket in the world starts. The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup is all set to begin on October 3 in the UAE, with 10 teams battling it out for the coveted trophy.

Defending champions Australia would be eyeing to continue their dominance in the event as they have clinched the title 6 times out of the total 8 editions held so far. A day ahead of the beginning of the 17-day event in the United Arab Emirates, the event official commenced with a grand Captains’ day event at the Dubai International stadium on Wednesday. The captains from all the ten teams participated in the event on the eve of the tournament in utmost style and fashion.



ICC adopts distinctive approach The International Cricket Council (ICC) adopted a distinctive approach for the ceremony this year, making it more exciting and beautiful against the impressive background of the Dubai frame, as symbol of the UAE. Captains of the two teams – West Indies and South Africa, were seen on camels while the other eight captains were standing as all of them posed happily for the cameras with the company of the beautiful camels. After posing for the photoshoot and doing away with all other formalities, all the captains were given the opportunity to speak ahead of the beginning of the marquee event.
