WISH Drop-In Centre Society is in its 40th year of operations—and to commemorate the anniversary, the organization is running a year-long campaign with the goal of raising $1 million to maintain its urgently needed services. Running in conjunction with the fundraiser is a silent auction , which features contributions from organizations including the BC Lions, Vancouver Writers Fest, and Sugaring Beauty Boudoir. Items such as gift certificates, jewellery, and art will be up for auction until November 7.
The charity will also host its first in-person event since 2018 on November 7 at The Thirds to celebrate the anniversary and support the fundraiser. Speakers, performances, a live DJ, canapes catered by Chewies, cocktails, and a mini art show will be among the night’s features. While the event’s dress code is business casual, “ fabulous attire ” is encouraged.
