Winona's public elementary schools will be reconfigured for the next school year. The Winona Area Public Schools Board of Education voted Thursday night for a plan that will put all kindergarten students in Goodview Elementary and first through fourth grades in Jefferson and Washington-Kosciusko elementaries for the 2025-2026 school year. Existing preschool programs will continue to be hosted at both Goodview and Washington-Kosciusko elementaries.

Kindergarteners in the Rios Spanish Immersion program will be at Goodview Elementary and first through fourth graders will be at Washington-Kosciusko Elementary. A facilities and programming plan will begin to be fashioned starting in January. Also, before December 2025, the board will be expected to consider a proposal for the future of preschool programing at Washington-Kosciusko.
