Idris Elba has Champagne - but is it any good? (file) (Image: Getty) A wine expert has given an honest review of Idris Elba 's Champagne - which costs £99 for a bottle. Tom Gilbey has more than 150,000 followers on TikTok , where he shares videos reviewing all sorts of wine - from cheap Aldi bottles to the really expensive stuff. And he recently managed to get his hands on a bottle of Elba's Champagne Porte Noire Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs.
For a bottle of bubbly to be labelled "Grand Cru", all of the grapes used must come from one of the 17 Grand Cru villages in the Champagne region of France. Tom said Idris' came from the village of Avize. Explaining the difference between this and regular Champagne, Tom said: "Grand Cru Champagne should have a bit more weight, and a bit more elegance, and a bit more finesse than normal Champagne.
