On November 4, Langdale Chase hotel, in Windermere, part of the Daniel Thwaites group, joined forces with Goodly Dale Community Primary School to plant the bulbs. Hotel staff, including general manager Mike Vincent and head gardener Claire Farrington, worked with the school's eco club to plant the daffodils. The bulbs were donated by Daniel Thwaites and included four different varieties, 'Ice King', 'Ice Follies', 'Golden Anniversary', and 'King Alfred', all differing in their flower colour, height, and flowering time.

The hotel underwent a careful and sensitive restoration and now offers a new era of laid-back luxury and style. The hotel's gardens, planned and laid out by renowned landscape gardener Thomas Mawson, retain many original features and are currently being brought back to their former glory as part of a multi-year project..
