Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Poland and will soon head to Ukraine on August 23. Instead of flying to Kyiv, PM Modi will travel from Poland to Ukraine aboard a special luxury train, Train Force One. This 20-hour overnight journey will take him to Kyiv, where he is scheduled for a seven-hour visit.

Due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, all airports in Ukraine remain closed, making train travel the safest option for international visitors. Train Force One is renowned for its luxury, world-class service, and advanced security measures, ensuring the safety and comfort of VIP passengers. Originally built in 2014 for tourists in Crimea, Train Force One features a modern interior with a meeting table, plush sofa, and wall-mounted TV.

There are also sleeping arrangements, making the 20-hour journey as comfortable as possible. Additionally, the train is equipped with armored windows, secure communication systems, and a team of security personnel to handle any challenges. US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi have all used Train Force One during their visits to Ukraine amid the war. During his time in Kyiv, PM Modi is expected to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to discuss important defense deals and share perspectives on resolving the ongoing conflict peacefully. The visit follows Modi’s recent trip to Moscow, which drew criticism from the US and its Western allies.
