The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has recently issued a yellow alert for several districts across Kerala, warning of impending heavy rainfall over the coming days. According to the latest updates, significant rainfall is forecasted in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad.

Additionally, the warning has been extended to Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Wayanad, with predictions of continuous downpours on October 8 and 9. As per the weather forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall are expected in parts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Kottayam. The rainfall intensity is anticipated to range between 5 mm and 15 mm per hour, with gusty winds reaching speeds up to 40 km/h.



These conditions are likely to persist until October 11, urging residents to remain vigilant. Data collected by the IMD until 5:30 PM on Sunday highlights significant rainfall across different parts of Kerala. Kannur Airport recorded the highest rainfall at 93 mm, followed by Palakkad with 28 mm.
