The ever-controversial yet ever-successful Mel Gibson’s long-time girlfriend, Rosalind Ross – known to her friends as Rosey, per Hello! – celebrated her 34th birthday last month, while her beau turned 68 in January. Despite their huge age difference, the couple has been going strong since 2014 and have a seven-year-old son together, Lars Gerard Gibson, who is the actor’s ninth child. Being with Ross, who is half his age, gave Gibson some of the “happiest years he’s ever had”, a source told People in March.

She made her entry into Hollywood through screenwriting and is credited for writing one episode of the TV drama Matador . Her spec script, Barbarian , which made it to the 2016 Black List, is in pre-production, per IMDB, and has been described as a “female Braveheart ”.
Ross is also credited as a writer on the Casey Affleck-produced pirate movie Black Sam , which is currently in development. She also co-executive produced the American Western TV miniseries Lawmen: Bass Reeves . The film is based on the life of boxer-turned-priest Stuart Long. Ross reportedly came on board at the request of Wahlberg, who asked her not only to write the screenplay but also to direct.
