SINCE bursting onto the scene in the early noughties, Mollie King has managed to stay well and truly int the spotlight. The Saturdays star is now getting ready to welcome her second child with partner Stuart Broad . Mollie King is known for being a singer, radio presenter, and model.
She was born on June 4, 1987, and is from Wandsworth in London. As a youngster, Mollie was a skiing champion and a finalist in the Miss Guildford beauty pageant. She began her rise to fame by auditioning for The X Factor in 2005 at the age of 18, where she clashed with Sharon Osbourne over her chosen outfit despite impressing with her vocals.
Mollie returned in 2007 as part of the pop girl band, Fallen Angelz, but they did not get past the Bootcamp round. That same year, Mollie auditioned to be part of the girl band, The Saturdays, alongside Frankie Bridge and Rochelle Humes who had been a member of S Club Juniors, as well as Vanessa White and Una Healy. As soon as they formed, the group toured with Girls Aloud.
They went on to release four albums and sold over five million of them. Among their best-known songs are Ego, Issues, and their cover of Just Can't Get Enough. After seven years in action and four tours, plus their own show called Chasing The Saturdays, the band went on a permanent hiatus in 2014.
They reunited in 2017 to celebrate their tenth anniversary , but did not make any new music. Mollie released her debut single, Back To You, in 2016, and went on to take part in the BBC series, Strictly Come Dancing, in 2017. She has now turned her hand to presenting and is known for occasionally hosting This Morning and having a show on Radio 1.
In 2022, BBC Radio 1 announced that Mollie King would host a brand new show on the station - BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop. I think the listeners don’t mind hearing a mistake every now and then — it proves I’m human. The series launched in September and airs Thursdays from 8pm to 10pm.
In 2019, Mollie revealed she struggles to read her scripts on air as a result of her dyslexia. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, she said: “I do find reading really hard because I’m dyslexic. “So if I’m reading out a text on air, I might slip up and read a word slightly wrong, then that does sit with me for a bit.
“But it’s all about brushing it off and just moving on." She added: “Doing things live has made me better at just brushing things off and ploughing on, because I think the listeners don’t mind hearing a mistake every now and then — it proves I’m human.” In 2024, Mollie took part in a 500km Red Nose Day charity bike ride for Comic Relief.
Mollie began dating England cricket star Stuart Broad in 2018 - but the pair split just five months later. At the time, a source said: “Mollie and Stuart’s romance has fizzled out. "Their schedules are packed and it’s not been easy to see each other often.
“It wasn’t working so they went their separate ways. There are no hard feelings.” However, the pair rekindled the spark shortly after, with the bowler proposing to the radio host on New Year's Day 2021.
Before Stuart , Mollie enjoyed a high-profile romance with British model, David Gandy , in 2011. Their relationship lasted ten months, and they got back together in 2015, only to split again the following year. Prior to that, she dated Andy Brown, the lead singer of Lawson.
In June 2022, Mollie revealed she was expecting her first child with Stuart. She shared her exciting pregnancy news on Instagram alongside a picture of the cricketer kissing her growing bump. Mollie wrote: “Stuart and I are so so happy to share that we’re expecting a baby later this year! We’re absolutely over the moon.
” Her bandmates rushed to congratulate her with Rochelle writing: “Best news ever.” On November 24, 2022, Mollie took to social media once again to announce that she and her fiancé had welcomed their daughter into the world. The new mum posted: "Welcome to the world Annabella Broad .
We have never been so in love." In August 2024, Mollie and Stuart revealed they were set to be parents again with their second child. She wrote: "Our baby girl is going to become a big sister.
We can’t wait to meet you, little one!".
