British YouTuber Miles Routledge has found himself at the centre of a storm after making racist comments about India and “joking” about launching nuclear bombs against the country if he were to become the UK Prime Minister. The 25-year-old, who boasts 126,000 followers on X, posted, “When I become Prime Minister of England, I’ll open the nuclear silos as an explicit warning to any foreign power that interferes with British interests and affairs. I’m not talking huge incidents, I’m itching to launch and atomise entire nations over the smallest infraction.

‘I just don’t like India’ Earlier this week, Miles sparked a wave of racist posts targeting Indians by sharing a screenshot where an anonymous X user appeared to threaten him. Despite no clear indication of the user’s nationality, Routledge accused them of being Indian. “Indian threatens to find me, it backfires lmao,” Miles wrote alongside the screenshot.

After facing backlash for his post about launching a nuclear bomb on India, an Indian X user accused him of rage-baiting.

Routledge replied, “Believe it or not, I just don’t like India. Also I can sense an Indian, he is Indian. If a man online suddenly talks about ducking your mother in the first response, he’s Indian.

Many such cases." The controversy around Routledge doesn’t end there. He has previously made a distasteful comment about the population in India and Africa.

“If I was reincarnated, I would like to return as a virus to contribute to humanity by solving the overpopulation in India and Africa,” he wrote in a post dated August 18, 2024. These series of racist statements have resulted in widespread social media backlash against Miles, with many calling for accountability and urging platforms to take action against such offensive behaviour. Who is this Miles Routledge? Popularly known as “Lord Miles”, Routledge was raised as an only child in Falcon Lodge, Birmingham, UK.

His father was a sperm donor, and he was conceived through in vitro fertilisation. He attended Hollyfield School and completed his sixth form at Plantsbrook School in 2018. While in school, he worked part-time as a hairdresser.

However, he left the university due to controversies, including concerns over his book on Afghanistan titled, ‘ Lord Miles in Afghanistan ’. A ‘danger tourist’ Miles Routledge first came into limelight in 2021 when he decided to visit Afghanistan after Google ranked it among the “most dangerous countries to visit.

” Ignoring warnings from the British government, he ventured to Afghanistan to experience life under the Taliban’s offensive, arriving in Kabul on August 13, just days before the city fell on August 15. According to The Tribune , Routledge travelled the country and documented his journey on social media platforms like 4chan, Facebook, and Twitch. When the Taliban took control, he found himself “stuck in a pickle”.

He sought refuge in a safe house and with the help of a local guide he was eventually evacuated by the British Army, disguised as a woman in a burkha. “I bought a burkha, put it on, and pretended to be a woman walking around with my tour guide, who people thought was just my husband,” Routledge told British tabloid The Tab . In an interview with foreignperspectives.

net, Routledge expressed his willingness to return to Afghanistan and continue his cultural exchange. “As people were screaming and running around, I was befriending the Taliban and Nato special forces with a smile and my smartphone, posting everything for the world to see,” he said. The YouTuber later signed a book deal with Antelope Hill, publishing his account of the Fall of Afghanistan in December 2022.

com/BsI1n095CF Undeterred by the dangers, he continued travelling to risky destinations, including Kazakhstan, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Ukraine, and Brazil, where he faced challenges like false imprisonment and illegal border crossings. Routledge returned to Afghanistan in 2022 and again in 2023, only to be arrested by Taliban intelligence. He was detained alongside two Polish nationals for questioning.

During his eight-month imprisonment, Routledge claimed to have been treated well, staying in a luxurious guest house, and described his detention as “the most enjoyable holiday,” complete with privileges like buying an Xbox and eating pizza. A friend, who was in contact with him during this time, told The Mirror that Routledge was treated so well because the Taliban are “fans” of his book and find him to be a “goofy guy.” 🧵 This is a friend of Lord Miles to give an update.
