White Oak ISD trustees have selected an assistant superintendent as the district's next chief. Jackson Parker, who also was White Oak High School principal in the 2022-23 school year, has been in education for 33 years, according to the district. "Mr.

Parker has been married to his beautiful wife, Tina Parker, for 32 years," the district said. "Tina is also part of the White Oak family and serves as our health science teacher. White Oak ISD is blessed to have them as part of the Roughneck family.

" Parker replaces former Superintendent William Paul, who resigned in June after serving in the position for a little more than a year. "White Oak is a special school district. The pride and tradition run deep," Parker said in a statement.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be named the lone finalist, and I will work each and every day to make it a place where students thrive. The staff is incredible and the best is yet to come. Go Roughnecks!" Texas law requires school districts to wait 21 days before an official contract is offered to a superintendent finalist.

Parker is scheduled to sign his contract Sept. 5..
