The Airbus A330neo is a significant improvement within its family of medium-sized, wide-bodied aircraft. Today, it is operated by a growing list of airlines around the world - with Saudi Arabia's flyadeal seemingly set to be the next to order the aircraft. Currently, the only operator in the Middle East is Kuwait Airways (which received its first A330-900neo in December 2024) .

Airbus' new A330neo aircraft The Airbus A330neo (neo being "New Engine Option") is one of the two families of Airbus widebody aircraft currently in production (the other being the larger A350).



The aircraft is an updated variant of Airbus' popular A330 family of aircraft and is exclusively powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engine (which boasts double the bypass ratio compared with its predecessor). Rolls-Royce claims the engine saves $4 million annually per aircraft, burns 14% less fuel per seat carried, is 6bB quieter, and has a bypass ratio of 10:1. The two A330neo variants, the -800 and -900, are based on the A330-200 and the A330-300, respectively.
