Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP spokesperson and senior leader ANS Prasad has publicly criticised actor-turned-politician Vijay, accusing him of prioritising self-promotion and political branding over the welfare of supporters who attended his recent rally in Vikravandi, Villupuram. Prasad highlighted several issues surrounding the event, expressing concerns over the lack of basic amenities provided to attendees. In a scathing statement, Prasad condemned Vijay’s alleged failure to ensure essential amenities such as drinking water, food, clean toilets, and medical facilities for attendees, despite encouraging them to “come safely and create political history.

” Prasad questioned why the attendees were left “in such an unsafe and unsanitary manner” despite their loyalty to Vijay, whom they consider one of their own. Prasad pointed out that Vijay had arranged luxurious accommodations in seven caravans for himself, his family, and special guests, yet failed to provide adequate seating or facilities for the general public. While Vijay claimed around 3,00,000 people attended the rally, only 10,000 chairs were arranged.



According to Prasad, Vijay’s focus remained on the grandeur of the stage and the event’s visual appeal rather than the comfort and well-being of attendees.
