Silver Solutions is not only home to highly qualified practitioners, but is equipped with the latest and safest technology, which includes but is not limited to a GPS-guided laser that automatically adjusts to treat sun damage, red spots, and veins. Silver Solutions MedSpa specializes in medical aesthetics and rejuvenation such as cosmetic injectables (Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and a wide array of dermal fillers), medical grade hydrafacials, and an extensive range of additional nonsurgical procedures, such as bio regenerative treatments inclusive to: Platelet Rich Plasma/Fibrin, Sculptra, Microneedling, and Radiesse which all encourage your body to make its own collagen. If you're unsure whether you would be a good candidate for certain procedures, or if you are inspired to explore what treatments would be best suited to your goals and needs, you can count on Silver and her team to provide clear and informed guidance throughout the entire process.

Patient education through open, honest, and attuned conversation is at the heart of what makes Silver Solutions MedSpa unique in the medical aesthetics field. To them, it’s more than a transaction, it’s an art aimed at elevating self-care and self-concept with safety, attunement, and patient education at its core. “We always want to fully educate our patients before moving forward with any treatments.

We discuss patient goals and priorities, and make sure that patients are not only excellent candidates for the treatments they are seeking, but are also comfortable throughout the entire pre-treatment, treatment, and post-treatment care process,” says Silver. Each patient receives a personalized treatment plan aligned with their goals and needs that also includes options for budget minded patients. The goal is to ensure that everyone that comes for a consultation and/or treatment, regardless of economic status, has reasonable access to a self-care plan that is tailored to their skin care and wellness goals, as well as their budgetary needs.

Before treatment begins, a careful review of each patient’s medical history and a thorough consultation is conducted. While most patients come to Silver for consultation regarding non-surgical treatments, not all are ideal candidates, and these patients may be referred out if their needs and goals are better suited to surgery or treatment interventions performed solely by dermatologists, or other specialists. Nina Silver, RN, BFA, owner of Silver Solutions MedSpa stands beside VISIA Skin Analysis Device.

During a specialized Skin Consultation, Silver and her team will mark the specific areas of concern, and also use the VISIA Skin Analysis Device to scan the patient’s face and develop a comprehensive treatment plan. VISIA captures facial images at various angles using different filters and UV. This helps to analyze the face through different skin layers identifying immediate areas of concern on the surface (e.

g., wrinkles, dark spots) and also identifies issues that may arise over time that present deeper in the skin (e.g.

, UV spots). All this information, and the reports generated, are shared openly with patients, to give them autonomy in understanding and choosing the best route of care suited to their desires and needs. “We never see ourselves realistically in the mirror.

And I want to make sure that we're all on the same page – that I'm seeing what's concerning them and also pointing out solutions and any additional areas of need that make themselves apparent during consultation,” says Silver. For Botox, one of the MedSpa’s most popular treatments, Silver will discuss every muscle they’re treating, the dose they are using, and will mark the muscles to show where the injection points will be. First-time patients will have a follow-up appointment two weeks later to verify that their medication dosage is appropriate.

Health history, treatment options, and consents are assessed by their Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Russo, in collaboration with a team of nurse practitioners, who assist in making treatment decisions and are on standby for any emergencies. Each treatment undergoes this process to guarantee patients that their treatment meets FDA-approved standards.

Throughout pre-treatment, treatment, and post-treatment follow ups, Silver and her team strive to relate to patients on a very personal level. Silver reassures patients considering Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau by sharing that she personally uses the treatment and often shares her before and afters to demonstrate the impact the treatment has had on her appearance over time. Silver’s entire team discusses personal treatment stories and proven methods they and their friends and family members have used for achieving the lasting skin-health and aesthetic results tailored to their needs.

“A lot goes on behind those doors. We talk about our family, friends, and relationships. There's a lot of sharing that goes on.

Many of my patients have been with me since I first started practicing in 2009!” says Silver. If any doubt remains for a patient, Silver directs them to their website, social media, and Google Reviews. These platforms showcase before and afters and testimonials of patients who have decided to pursue similar treatment, which often helps to ease any initial anxiety that a prospective patient, new to medical aesthetics, may have.

The field of aesthetic medicine is still relatively nuanced and is continually evolving through innovations inspired by new medical research and technology. While Botulinum toxin, or Botox, now one the most commonly used treatments in aesthetic medicine, was first tested for cosmetic treatment in 1987 by Drs. Jean and Alastair Carruthers, their research was only published in 1991.

First explored for medical aesthetics in 1987, Botox had been used medically for years prior to treat strabismus, a misalignment of the eyes. Its aesthetic potential was discovered as a welcomed side effect of its traditional medical use. When being used to treat blepharospasm, a condition characterized by involuntary facial muscle spasms that cause the eyelids to close tightly, a patient of Dr.

Jean and Dr. Caruther’s noticed that the Botox not only helped with blepharospasm but also worked to smooth their forehead wrinkles. As a result, the application of Botox in medical aesthetics was born.

There was very little formal research on aesthetic medicine at the time of Dr. Jean and Dr. Carruthers discovery.

Aesthetic medicine has come a long way since then. Notably, Silver points out that there are currently studies being conducted using MRI scans and ultrasounds to see how medications like Botox and dermal filler work within the tissue. Silver notes that the key to safety and success in aesthetic medicine is staying current with practices and valuing lifelong learning, and she and her team are evidence of this. In the coming months, her team will be attending aesthetic medicine conferences like the Modern Beauty Con in Boston, co-founded by Silver’s friend and colleague Renata Roddy, NP owner of Roddy MedSpa, and the Medical Aesthetics Professionals (MAP) meeting in Arizona alongside their medical director, Dr. Russo.

Thereafter, Silver and Ashley Paradise, RN, LE Tracy Martin, DNP will be attending Skin CEO the ultimate Sciton Laser conference in New York City. Continuing education ties into how Silver builds her team, which begins with a 90-day training and onboarding period for all new employees. Silver notes that the aesthetic medicine field has a huge learning curve that calls for in-depth learning and careful planning that go well beyond poking needles into muscles.

This ongoing learning involves engaging in educational courses, hands-on training and events, and the review of extensive medical standard operating procedures, as well as published research on a variety of topics related to medical aesthetics. Some of the learning involved, like the attendance of annual cadaver courses, certainly isn’t for the faint of heart, but is essential to the efficacy of what is offered at Silver Solutions. After acquiring foundational knowledge and skills, licensed providers also must invest time in mastering nuances, such as examining a patient’s every expression before and after treatment to ensure that their unique anatomy has been highlighted in a way that results in a natural look.

A “natural look” can mean a lot of things to individual patients, each with varying skin types, medical and anatomical considerations, and needs. Silver is most proud and excited that her treatments can help a diverse range of patients and skin types. “Our greatest desire is to offer care that meets the dynamic needs of all of those who enter our office.

We are thrilled to be able to serve the diverse and expanding population of the Berkshires and surrounding areas, and are committed to improving equity in access to informed medical aesthetic care, and to celebrating the diversity present within our community.” To book a consultation with Silver, call 413-441-8453 or email [email protected] .
