Hong Kong-based Elsa Jeandedieu is a French muralist and visual artist whose works can be seen across the city. She spoke to Andrew Sun. A favourite place of mine is Treehouse (Shop 1, G/F, The Steps, H Code, 45 Pottinger Street, Central.

Tel: 3791 2277) for its delicious, health-conscious menu that aligns perfectly with my food preferences. As for a more unique dining experience, I love visiting Man Mo Dim Sum & Wine (G/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan). It offers an interesting fusion of Chinese and French culinary traditions.

I am particularly fond of their truffle Brie (a French soft cow-milk cheese) dumplings and the sea bass dumpling. For a more elevated dinner experience, I would suggest the Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic (44/F, Forty-Five, Gloucester Tower, Landmark Atrium, 15 Queen’s Road Central. Tel: 3501 8580).

For a celebration splurge, I would choose L’Envol (3/F, The St. Regis Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Drive, Wan Chai. Tel: 2138 6818), a French fine-dining restaurant, for its elegant yet intimate atmosphere.

Overseas, I love exploring the remarkable food destinations of Bali in Indonesia, Australia’s Sydney and Bangkok in Thailand. In Bali, I would suggest Kubu at Mandapa (Jalan Kedewatan, Banjar Kedewatan Mandapa, a Ritz Carlton Reserve, Ubud. Tel: +62 361 4792777).

It feels utterly magical, nestled at the bottom of a verdant valley with dim lighting and exotic cocoon-shaped dining rooms. My friends and I were left in awe by the sheer beauty of the setting. We were literally in tears.

In Sydney, I would suggest the Me-Gal Restaurant (2A Bradleys Head Road, Mosman, Sydney. Tel: +61 8023 7636), located within the Taronga Zoo. Our family enjoyed an unforgettable Christmas dinner there, marvelling at the views of “The Coathanger” – also known as the Sydney Harbour Bridge – as we were surrounded by the natural wonders of the zoo.

Bangkok is also on my list, where the vibrant street food scene is unparalleled. The city’s signature coconut pandan desserts are so tasty that I would happily travel to Bangkok solely for them..
