A stretch of the A14 will be closed overnights for two months starting at the end of the month. The closure will be in place between junction 52, near Claydon, and junction 55 for the Copdock Interchange. The overnight closures will begin on Tuesday, August 27 until mid October.
The road is expected to be closed between 8pm and 6am but will be weather permitting. A spokesman for National Highways said the roadworks will " minimise the need for more extensive repairs in the future ." The official diversion route is roughly 10 miles long and will take traffic through the village of Sproughton.
Traffic heading eastbound will exit at junction 52, travel along the B1113 through Bramford and Sproughton, then head along the A1071 and A1214 to rejoin the A14 at the Copdock Interchange. The westbound diversion will be the same in reverse..
