Success stories in Bollywood are often sprinkled with what-ifs and near-misses, and Stree 2 is no exception. The horror-comedy, which has now comfortably joined the ₹300-crore club in just 9 days and is steadily marching towards the ₹600-crore mark, has propelled Rajkummar Rao to new heights. But here's a fun fact you may not know: Rajkummar wasn't the first choice for the film.

The role was initially offered to Vicky Kaushal! Yes, you read that right. The role of Vicky, the endearing tailor who finds himself in a spooky small town terrorized by a mysterious spirit, could have been played by—well—Vicky Kaushal. But alas, fate had other plans.

During an appearance on Vogue BFFs, Vicky revealed that he had to turn down Stree because he was tied up with Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan at the time. When asked to pick a movie he now regrets not doing, Vicky candidly admitted, "Stree. That was because I was doing Manmarziyaan.

" However, even after Vicky Kaushal lost on the offer to Rajkummar Rao, there is no bad blood between. The two actors recently met and shared a hug during the success party of Stree 2. The warmth and love Vicky is receiving from his friends and colleagues says it all.

Vicky received a heap of praise for his performance in Manmarziyaan, where he starred alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. His portrayal of the complicated and unpredictable DJ Vicky Sandhu was lauded by critics and fans alike. But despite the accolades, the film didn't exactly set the box office on fire.

In contrast, Stree turned into an unexpected smash hit and gave Rajkummar Rao his breakthrough role in the horror-comedy genre. Meanwhile, Vicky has bounced back and is certainly not brooding over past roles. His latest film Bad Newz kept him in the spotlight, and he has some exciting projects lined up.

Later this year, Vicky will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhava, and he's also gearing up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-anticipated Love And War, starring alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt..
