More than two decades have passed since the release of ‘ Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham ’ (K3G), directed by Karan Johar. The film, which debuted in 2001, has maintained its charm and continues to captivate audiences with its grandiose songs, memorable comedy, and emotionally charged dialogues. Featuring an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kajol, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, K3G remains a quintessential family entertainer.

The film resonated with countless viewers, including Jaya Bachchan. During an episode of her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast, ‘What the Hell Navya,’ Jaya Bachchan shared her love for classic films when asked about her favorites. She mentioned titles such as ‘Gone With the Wind,’ various Marlon Brando films like ‘On the Waterfront,’ and Paul Newman’s ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.



’ She also expressed her admiration for classic Indian cinema, highlighting Dilip Kumar’s ‘Devdas’ and ‘Mughal-E-Azam.’ Among more recent movies, she has a particular fondness for ‘K3G’. "I can watch ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham’ anytime.

I love mushy movies," she revealed. Navya’s mom Shweta Bachchan chimed in, expressing how ‘K3G’ is a film that transcends time. “It is a film that doesn’t age.

Agastya (Nanda) watches it a lot. When he watches Nana’s (Amitabh Bachchan) films, he doesn’t understand them. But ‘K3G’ is something he can watch over and over again.

” Agastya Nanda , Jaya’s grandson, finds the film particularly amusing. Jaya then humorously interrupted, revealing that Agastya watches ‘K3G’ primarily to tease her. “He watches the film only to ‘make fun’ of me in it,” she laughed.

This playful banter highlights the enduring connection between family members and the film that has become a part of their shared history.
