Washington: The instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced the release of a new update for its beta version on Android devices, introducing a new AI-powered widget from Meta.
The update, version 2.25.
6.14, simplifies access to AI features directly from the home screen. The new widget allows users to interact with Meta's chatbot without opening the app, enabling them to add the widget to their home screen and customize it according to their needs.
The widget offers three main shortcuts. The first is a chat shortcut that allows users to start a conversation with Meta AI and receive instant responses with a single tap.
The second is a voice chat option, which enables users to initiate a voice chat with Meta AI effortlessly.
The third shortcut is the ability to use the widget, which is still in development and currently available to some beta testers. The widget's availability is expected to expand to more users in the coming days and weeks.
