But I digress. Now, armed with all the bunting and brightly coloured appliances producers can muster, 10 award-winning pastry masters from across the US compete in the biggest blue-ribbon bake-off yet. Only, they get much more than a ribbon; they also get the chance to pocket $100,000 (take note, Channel 4).

White House pastry chef Bill Yosses and award-winning artisan baker Bryan Ford serve alongside head judge Sandra Lee. Trying his hand at presenting, we have American pie enthusiast Jason Biggs. Inside The Mind of a Dog Netflix, streaming now “Food? Fun? Friend?” All things one can assume dogs would say if we could understand them.

Although, when you think about how emotionally involved dogs are with their humans, (they can literally smell our stress), they’d probably spend a lot of time asking “Are you OK?” Rob Lowe narrates how dogs were first drawn to humans by the “yummy garbage” left by cavemen and explores whether they truly love us as much as we believe. Fuchsia Libre Netflix, streaming now While a professional wrestler fights to make a name for himself in the ring, he grapples with telling his illiberal father the truth about his sexual orientation.

Consider it Cassandro (recently released and starring Gael García Bernal) but based in the Philippines. The Instigators The Instigators AppleTV+, streaming now Matt Damon swaps out Ben Affleck for brother Casey for this new heist movie directed by Doug Liman ( The Bourne Identity , plus Mr & Mrs Smith ). It sounds slicker than it is.

Matt Rife: Lucid Netflix, streaming now In Netflix’s first “crowd work special”, Matt Rife gets personal with an “unpredictable” US audience to riff on all things dreams. For the uninitiated, crowd work is what Tommy Tiernan has been doing for years. Matt Rife: Lucid Worst Ex Ever Netflix, streaming now It was only a matter of time before the makers of Worst Roommate Ever came across with a Worst Ex offering.

Featuring testimonials, bodycam footage and the usual animated reenactments, these true stories underscore the unsettling reality that we never truly know anyone. ​Daughters Netflix, streaming now This poignant number, directed by Natalie Rae and social change advocate Angela Patton, chronicles an eight-year journey. The documentary follows four girls as they prepare for a daddy-daughter dance with their incarcerated dads.
