The King’s Man The King’s Man Channel 4, 9pm This prequel to the Kingsman franchise takes place in 1914 and stars Ralph Fiennes as the Duke of Oxford, who is trying to avert an international disaster with help from a dedicated group of spies.

Rhys Ifans, Gemma Arterton and Harris Dickinson co-star. Spartacus RTÉ One, 1.15pm Roman epic from Stanley Kubrick.

Kirk Douglas plays the title character, a slave fighting against his oppressors. Tony Curtis and Jean Simmons are among the supporting cast.
