A new motoring revival show is set to launch on Netflix - and it's going to be familiar to fans of Pimp My Ride. The motoring show Resurrected Rides is being produced by the team behind the cult MTV series and brought the format back for a new generation of petrol heads and motoring enthusiasts. The eight-episode series will see tired and ageing vehicles revived and surely amaze viewers along the way.

Netflix says Resurrected Rides will take a more comedic approach to the car makeovers and a modern version of Pimp My Ride. This is what we know about Resurrected Rides. What is Resurrected Rides about? Resurrected Rides will see motorists bring in their worn-out vehicles for a customisation and a new lease of life.



Viewers will see how the vehicles will be transformed step-by-step by the show's mechanics - anything from a new paint job, upgrade interiors, or alter ride height. Netflix says Resurrected Rides aims to combine the charm of Pimp My Ride "with modern automotive artistry to help deserving owners transform their beloved beaters into roadworthy masterpieces". Saturday Night Live star and comedian Chris Redd will host the series with his team of genius mechanics transforming vehicles.

What does the cast say about the new series? “We took an iconic concept and gave it a fresh twist, all while helping people along the way,” host Chris Redd said “Plus, we got to roast, prank, and even ‘steal’ folks’ cars on a show budget! This show truly has it all!” Rick Hurvitz, who co-created “Pimp My Ride,” which aired on MTV from 2004 to 2007, serves as an executive producer on the series, along with Brandon Killion, Ari Shofet and Mike Odair. “This is an aspirational and wish-fulfillment show with a comedic lens, and we’re excited to give deserving folks a mind-blowing automotive makeover,” says executive producer Ari Shofet. “We took the spirit and knowledge from the original [series] and reimagined it with a hilarious host, brand-new cast, plus the eye-popping technology and culture of today,” adds executive producer Rick Hurvitz, who also produced Pimp My Ride with Shofet.
