Low-cost carrier Air India Express has collaborated with a travel solutions technology company to develop its first virtual interline platform. This platform will help the carrier partner with other airlines for interline agreements and offer its passengers more connecting options. Virtual interline platform Air India Express has announced the launch of its virtual interline platform, AIX Connect, which aims to provide more connecting options to its passengers through partnerships with other airlines.

Customers can go to the airline’s website and connect to the new platform, where they can book connecting flights in which one leg of the journey is operated by Air India Express and the other leg by the partner airline. Scoot has become Air India Express’ first partner airline on this platform, which has been created in collaboration with a travel solutions technology company, Dohop. Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India Express, commented, “As Air India Express strengthens its footprint across domestic and international markets, we are strategically leveraging virtual interline partnerships to unlock new destinations with seamless connectivity to the East and West.

We welcome Scoot as our first airline partner on this platform and look forward to onboarding more airlines, which will be instrumental in expanding the network further to cater to the growing outbound travel demand from India, while simultaneously enhancing inbound tourism by attracting international travellers to our vibrant nation.” Convenient booking options With Scoot as its partner airline, Air India Express has opened many connections for its passengers. The arrangement would enable users to book flights from India and the Middle East to 60 destinations across Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
