The private aviation charter company Vistajet has been operating since 2004, and since then it has offered the use of private jets using a "pay for hours flown" fare structure. Vistajet was originally called Air Executive when Thomas Flohr founded the company, initially buying jets at discounted rates during the post-9/11 dip in all aviation operations, which caused aircraft prices to drop. Analysis of the private jet charter industry commissioned by Flohr indicated that many private jets available for hire were owner-operated, rented out only when not in use by the owners and returning to their owner's home base after hire.
Flohr abandoned the idea of a home base for his small, but growing fleet, instead allowing his jets to freely move to and from where they were needed, picking up clients from the airport closest to their location. As a result, Vistajet grew quickly, and would eventually utilize a fleet of 360 aircraft in 2023. Vistajet performed world-wide flights to 207 countries and 1,900 airports by 2019, making it a household name in the field of private jet charter companies.
This article will take a closer look at the fleet operated by Vistajet, investigating which jets and aircraft manufacturers this modern charter company favors. VistaJet, and its parent company Vista Global, has grown to become one of the most popular private jet providers in the world. Vistajet is the child firm of the Vista Global Holding company.
