It's true that Rob Lowe was on The West Wing but now he really wants to be in the West Wing. The 60-year-old actor hilariously threw his hat in the ring to be Kamala Harris' running mate in a sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . Jimmy Fallon was in the middle of his monologue broaching the subject that Harris is some less than two weeks from naming her running mate, which would mark the fastest running mate search in modern history.

Just then, Lowe's voice can be heard out of the blue and he reluctantly agrees to be Harris' running mate, in an effort to alleviate the Harris campaign's stress. But as Fallon reminded him, that's not exactly how it works, especially when it comes to someone in Hollywood whose White House experience comes from a set. "I get that but I'm really past the stage in my career where I audition for things," Lowe quipped.



He added, "I know how it works, Jimmy. I was in The West Wing ." Lowe relents and says he'll audition "for the role of Vice President of the United States.
