Aritzia has entered the shapewear chat, and we're perking up and paying attention (quite literally). While the line, retailing from $28-$68 and aptly titled ShapeEnhance , has been introduced with just five pieces available in five neutral colorways, it's off to a strong start. The fabric that comprises the collection is designed to support and enhance your natural curves with tubular-knit technology, though I personally feel like the compression is strong enough to help me correct my posture.

So yeah, it's that tight, but not in a bad way. When four PS editors unboxed the ShapeEnhance Short, ShapeEnhance Thong Bodysuit, and ShapeEnhance Mid-Thigh Bodysuit, respectively, we all felt skeptical about our choice in sizing. Straight out of the package, the shapewear looks like it arrived 25 years too late for my American Girl Doll.

But shimmying into these nylons is worth it if you like to feel super-snatched, and if you prefer a bit more room, you should simply size up. Each piece is finished with meticulously-targeted shaping, giving your butt and chest an undeniable lift. What's more, the minimal seam lines mean there's no visible trace of the underwear , even under a sheer skirt or body-conscious knit maxi dress — just scroll for the proof.

While we hope Aritzia introduces more silhouettes and shades soon, we were highly-impressed with the luxe fabric. Read our full reviews and ratings ahead. I Wore Only Aritzia Activewear on a Grecian Yoga Retreat — These Were My Favorite Looks Aritzia ShapeEnhance Short in Toasty Aritzia ShapeEnhance Short in Toasty ($30) "As someone who generally only wears shapewear underneath cocktail and evening dresses for parties and events, I was excited to try the ShapeEnhance line under a casual daytime outfit.

After all, the more I wash this white peasant skirt, the more sheer it seems to get, so my goal was to find a match for my skin tone that would be both invisible and supportive via the promised compression. It's no joke that when you hold this shapewear up in front of you, it looks too small to fit an arm, never mind a leg. But boy does it stretch.

After finally squeezing my way into the shorts, I felt the compression start to work, with the sculpting butt pockets lifting in that region and the smoothing bodice providing, dare I say it, back support. Seriously — they should mention that these pieces assist with your posture! The only caveat? There's a very high rise, with the material reaching all the way up to your bustline, so these shorts won't work with cropped tees, low-waisted garments, or anything open enough to reveal your back or midriff. This does mean that the shorts likely only work with a section of your closet, but they do get the job done.

I love the bodysuit style because it provides shaping throughout my entire torso. The sweetheart neckline lifts my chest, replacing the need for a bra, and the thong-cut bottom doesn't leave me with dreaded panty lines.

The adjustable straps make it easy for me to get a perfect fit without them slipping and sliding around (something that I often have trouble with). The supportive fabric really snatches in my waist and gives me a smooth finish without feeling restrictive or uncomfortable." — Jessica Harrington, senior editor, Beauty Rating: ★★★★★ Aritzia ShapeEnhance Thong Bodysuit in Black Aritzia ShapeEnhance Thong Bodysuit in Black ($58) "I stepped one foot into Aritzia's ShapeEnhance Thong Bodysuit and audibly claimed, 'There's no way,' alarmed by how small the garment initially felt.

Thankfully, as I shimmied deeper into the bodysuit, the high-support shapewear expanded, working overtime to lift, sculpt, and miraculously define my waist. The compressive fabric held me in without making me feel physically nauseous throughout the day (an important consideration), and the seamless design made it easy to style. Although the bodysuit is meant to be worn as an undergarment, I'd argue certain shades could also be worn as flattering bodysuits (I wore mine with cargo pants and sneakers).

Either way, I'd definitely recommend adding a staple like this to your wardrobe." — Chandler Plante, assistant editor, Health & Fitness Rating: ★★★★★ Aritzia ShapeEnhance Mid-Thigh Bodysuit in Black Aritzia ShapeEnhance Mid-Thigh Bodysuit in Black ($68) "As someone who has never worn shapewear, I was nervous when I first tried on the Aritzia ShapeEnhance Mid-Thigh Bodysuit because it wouldn't go up. I figured it was too small.

Initially, I intended to recommend sizing up, but please, stick to your normal size. With MUCH effort, I managed to pull it up and was surprised that it actually fit. I love how soft and comfortable the shapewear is, especially since I was expecting the opposite for some reason.

With summer ending soon, I wanted to see how the shapewear would look under a clingy fall dress, and it smoothed everything out. I felt super supported, and no one could tell I was wearing shapewear." — Shari Straker, social content producer Rating: ★★★★★ Sarah Wasilak is the associate director of Shopping at PS.
